Hello and welcome!
Thank you for your interest in creating a submission for the KATE Blog. Teachers are our greatest asset, and we are excited to share your expertise with our community. While we always welcome general blog post submissions (please see guidelines below), we are also hoping to begin building a teacher resource hub where we can provide you with tangible and usable materials/resources.
Call for Resources for Blog Posts
Over the next five months, we will feature one canon text that is commonly taught in ELA classrooms. The selected texts and schedule are as follows:
September: Romeo and Juliet
October: To Kill a Mockingbird
November: The Great Gatsby
December: Pride and Prejudice
January: The Giver
We hope to collect teacher resources for these texts and publish them in one single blog post at the beginning of the month. We will then feature more in-depth posts throughout the month if submissions are received. For each text we are looking for materials/resources that cover the following areas:
Submitting a resource for one (or more!) of these texts can be as simple as e-mailing a link/document to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will also have social media posts available where you can provide links to your resource. You do not need to provide a full blog post on the material unless you desire to do so! We want to make sharing resources as easy as possible while still recognizing the amazing creativity and hard work that is taking place in Kansas classrooms.
General Blog Post Submission Guidelines
Post/Article must fall under one of the following categories:
1. Lesson ideas/pedagogical suggestions
1. Author bio (2-3 sentences)
Once submitted, our blog committee will review your submission and provide you with feedback as quickly as possible.
As always, we appreciate you taking the time to support, not only KATE, but the teaching profession!
